2010 Summer League

Update 5/25/10: Rosters and schedules have been posted.

We currently have room for Level 5 skaters. All other levels are full.

The Adult Hockey Association Summer Program is designed to be more relaxed than our Winter Program. There are fewer skill levels of play and fewer games. During the Summer we encourage forming teams with a mix of players from other AHA Winter teams or with players new to the league. This mix promotes improved sportsmanship and allows players to test and sometimes improve their skills. The registration fee includes a light weight jersey so that everyone on the team has the same jersey.

All players are required to register with USA Hockey. If you participated in the 2009 AHA Fall Tournament, or the 2009-2010 AHA Winter Program, you are already registered with USA Hockey through August 31, 2010. For new players who are not currently registered with USAH, if you register for the AHA Summer Program, your USAH registration will be active through August of 2011! This means your USA Hockey registration will cover all AHA Programs through next Summer, including the 2010 AHA Fall Tournament, 2010-2011 Winter Program, and 2011 AHA Summer Program.

New this Summer, teams may elect to request and submit to AHA Registration their entire team roster. The Adult Hockey Association will make every effort to honor player requests listed on the Player Request Form, however there is no guarantee that all requests will be granted. Final team rosters and level of play will be determined by the AHA prior to the start of the season and adjustments may be made as necessary to adjust parity within skill levels. There will be approximately 17 players to a team, and AHA maintains the final say on team placement.

As always Individuals may register to play in the Summer League and AHA will place you on a team appropriate for your skill level. This is an excellent way to break into AHA.

Players who are requesting to play together on a team must do so by completing the AHA Player Request Form available online. All players listed should be appropriate for the desired Summer Season playing level indicated below.

Players must register individually either online or by mailing or faxing in registration paperwork. Players must register on or before Monday, May 3rd, 2010 in order to guarantee a spot in the Summer Program. Registrations received after May 3rd will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Games will begin the first week of June and run through the end of August. Each team will play 12 games plus all teams make the single-elimination playoffs. Cost of the Summer Program will be $270. Games will be played Sunday through Thursday nights, roughly one game per week. The nights of the week are not dependent on the level of play.

This Summer we will have five levels of play based on the skill level as follows:

  • Level 1 - (Elite, B players.)
  • Level 2 - (C1 players.)
  • Level 3 - (C2 players.)
  • Level 4 - (D1 players.)
  • Level 5 - (D2 and Beginner players.)

Please note: any player who is new to the AHA will be required to attend an evaluation session. If you intend to play in Level 1, you do not need to attend an evaluation session. A schedule of evaluation sessions is posted online.

Contact the Registration Coordinator if you should have any questions.
